A striking Danish home with a calm feel

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">The 'Sense of Scandinavia' is built 'of vast landscapes and raw seasons, of cosy shared moments and the world's happiest people' so says <a href="http://www.skandinavisk.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Scandinavisk</a>.  And if the Danish candle company owner Shaun Russel and his wife Lene's house is anything to go by, this is most definitely true. Located in Copenhagen, this calm space is the perfect shelter from the winter storms and light a <a href="http://skandinavisk.com/" target="_blank">candle or two</a>. Not only does the brown and white schemed space have amazing bones with high ceilings and original parquet flooring, but the couple have carefully selected treasured design items and combined them with antique and vintage finds from which to enjoy it. Tina Fussell's lovely Danish home

I'm not sure if you remember, but last summer I had a visit from the wonderful stylist <a href="http://www.avenuelifestyle.com/" target="_blank">Holly Marder</a> and photographer <a href="http://www.jkf.nl/" target="_blank">Jansje Klazinga</a> (resulting in <a href="http://www.jkf.nl/-/galleries/editorial-sales/nikki-malm-lr" target="_blank">these shots</a> of my home). As part of their tour they also photographed <a href="http://travelingmama.net/" target="_blank">Tina Fussell</a>'s home in Copenhagen. I've had the pleasure of meeting Tina of <a href="http://travelingmama.net/" target="_blank">Traveling Mamma</a> several times and she's as lovely as she is talented (Tina works as a stylist, <a href="http://travelingmama.net/our-flying-h-in-dutch-magazine-ariadne-at-home/" target="_blank">blogger</a> and photographer. A Danish home with a warm soul and quirky touches

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">Here in Southern Sweden there's a winter storm on it's way (<i>again</i>). I think there's something kind of cosy about being indoors while the wind howls outside, don't you? Plus it creates time for all those projects. This Danish space belongs to <a href="http://meltdesignstudio.com/hvem/" target="_blank">Dorthe Kvist</a>, a landscape gardener, stylist, and interior designer and her husband and two children. Situated in Vanlose, Denmark. the family home is perfect inspiration for this type of weekend since many of the items within (shelves, tables etc) have been made by hand. The space has also been decorated using a mix of sentimental items such as photos, inherited furniture and flea market finds as well as modern ceramics and quirky touches.  The result is a cosy, personal space with plenty of soul. A cosy Danish cabin ready for Christmas

I thought I'd kick off the week with another extremely cosy log cabin, this time in Klampingborg, Denmark (did you miss the <a href="http://www.329db.blogspot.fr/2014/12/the-rustic-norwegian-log-cabin-hide-away.html" target="_blank">previous one</a>?).  This oh so lovely retreat belongs to Jeanette Hyleborg of webshop <a href="https://www.bestofnordic.dk/shop/frontpage.html" target="_blank">Best of Nordic</a> and blog <a href="http://voksenlivsstil.dk/" target="_blank">Voksenlivsstil</a> and her director husband Sten.  I love the irregular tree which has been decorated with mirrored hearts, stars and snowflakes and I'll be taking inspiration from their Christmas table - the fir cones and roses in moss make for a beautiful mix, don't you think? A danish home at Christmas

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">The Danes are famous for their beautiful Christmas decorations. Have you ever walked through Nyhavn in Copenhagen at Christmas? The quayside is transformed into a winter wonderland and festooned with fairy lights and fir tree branches. Christmas market stalls line the quay and the aroma of roasted chestnuts, almonds and glogg (mulled wine) fills the air. This danish home is a fine example of how beautifully Danes decorate for Christmas. The beautiful home of a Danish author

It's the home of Danish born, novelist <a href="http://www.annikavonholdt.com/blog/introduction">Annika von Holdt</a> author of The Mummers Play, Sleep Like the Dead, The Night Hour and The haunted. A striking black and white Danish home

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">Today I'd like to share a fab Danish home tour with an incredibly striking contrast. It's the family home of Sofie and Frank Christensen Egelund and their four children located just outside Copenhagen. The home fascinates me as it goes from serene white to a striking 'moody' dark grey in the kitchen. You may also notice the vast array of <a href="http://www.vipp.com/">VIPP</a> pedal bins dotted around the house. Sofie is Granddaughter to the founder of <a href="http://www.vipp.com/">VIPP</a> and now runs the company.
