Striking monochrome in a Gothenburg home

An inspiring work <a href="http://www.329db.blogspot.se/2015/02/the-fab-light-filled-studio-of-camille.html" target="_blank">studio in the US,</a> a Scandinavian style <a href="http://www.329db.blogspot.se/2015/02/inspiration-from-alejandrinas-beautiful.html" target="_blank">apartment in Mexico</a> and a <a href="http://www.329db.blogspot.se/2015/02/a-harmonious-swedish-space.html" target="_blank">calm Stockholm home</a>. Have you had a favourite? I thought I'd finish the week (see below) with a beautiful space in Sweden's second largest city - Gothenburg. The guys at <a href="http://entrancemakleri.se/hem-till-salu/objekt/493179/" target="_blank">Entrance</a> have worked their magic once again and created this fab monochrome space which is now<a href="http://entrancemakleri.se/hem-till-salu/objekt/493179/" target="_blank"> for sale</a>. (<i>I know</i>!) I think my favourite touch is the black stairs. Could you wile away a morning in this lovely Swedish space?

The new year's eve cobwebs have been blown away by the cold wind howling outside and I'm sitting under a cosy blanket at  <a href="http://www.329db.blogspot.se/2012/12/my-home-christmas-work-space.html" target="_blank">my desk </a>with a steaming cup of freshly roasted coffee. Now that's the way to start work in 2015! This is going to be a good year. I thought I'd kick off with a lovely, uncluttered home in Gothenburg Sweden with white floors and walls. A serene Swedish home in white and wood

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">I'm writing today's post from a candlelit cafe by the sea here in Southern Sweden.  It's barely daylight and there's a storm raging over the sea. It's feels so cosy to be tucked up inside! Contrary to the weather outside, this Gothenburg space is a picture of calm. I love the black, white, grey, and wood theme with touches of brass. One item that stands out in particular is the vintage brass drinks trolley used as a side table in the sitting room. Shades of grey in the perfect Swedish apartment

Dark days are brightened by twinkling fairy lights and lit candles. Grey is the colour du jour this December and it's been warmly embraced by this Gothenburg apartment. The apartment itself is so spacious and has beautiful bones which lends itself to a multitude of fab decorating ideas.  You can catch a glimmer of the festive season through the mini Christmas tree and hyacinths. Firstly the vintage black leather sofa. These are so popular right now and look fab with mid-century furniture. I'm still kicking myself as I spotted one at <a href="http://www.sopstationen.com/" target="_blank">Sopstationen</a>, a recycle station shop in Malmö, a year ago and didn't snap it up. GRR! You can often find them on <a href="http://www.ebay.com/" target="_blank">E-bay</a>, <a href="http://www.lauritz.com/en/" target="_blank">Lauritz</a> and <a href="http://www.liveauctioneers.com/" target="_blank">LiveAuctioneers</a>.<br /><br />The other thing is the front door. There's often wear and tear on the side of a painted door. The people who decorated this home left the side of the door in it's original wood to avoid chips and simultaneously created a lovely relaxed feel.<br /><br />Anything that stands out to you?<br /><br />A couple of things I recognise and love: 'City of Champions' <a href="http://www.luxoliving.dk/playtype-welcome-to-the-city-of-champions-plakat/" target="_blank">print</a>. New York <a href="http://www.artilleriet.se/shop/art-poster/#monumental-guide-to-new-york" target="_blank">print</a>. IKEA's <a href="http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/90216543/" target="_blank">HECTAR</a> wall lights in the bedroom and <a href="http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/60216549/" target="_blank">HECTAR</a> floor light in the sitting room.  Thonet <a href="http://www.designcollectors.com/EN/product/1645/thonet-214/" target="_blank">214</a> chairs.<br /><br />Have a lovely day!<br /><br /></div>
